About SESL

Our Mission

To bring deterministic, transparent, explainable reasoning to automated decision systems.

Founders

Vince Powell has spent more than 25 years helping businesses design, deliver, and apply technology to improve performance and scale operations. While working in senior business roles, he remained closely involved with the technical implementation. Frustrated by the lack of transparency and explainability in many AI systems, and by the effort and cost required to make them answer reliably, he founded SESL to prioritise certainty, clarity, and auditability in automated decision-making.

Roadmap

We are at the start of the SESL journey. With the core rules engine, CLI, and MCP server already built and tested at scale, the next step is broader adoption and industry-specific solution development.

SESL Language: open source with commercial licensing

Our initial priority is broad access to the language itself. In the short term we expect only targeted improvements to the engine and syntax, while investing more heavily in rule management, scenario tooling, and clearer tracing of rule and fact usage.

SESL MCP: usage-based access

The SESL MCP is already available as a demonstration service. It connects tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and other clients to SESL so teams can create rules from documents, run models, and return deterministic answers with supporting evidence.

Industry templates: partner marketplace model

We intend to let partners publish SESL templates on the platform and receive revenue when those templates are used by others, creating a practical marketplace for reusable expert models.

SESL Platform: SaaS licensing with free components

Work has already started on the management platform. It will support model creation and testing, MCP server configuration, model-to-server allocation, shared model libraries, runtime monitoring, audit trails, user management, and the partner template marketplace.

SESL API: usage-based access

The SESL API will provide an additional way to run models in applications where high throughput and low latency are important.

Feedback

We welcome suggestions, implementation ideas, and requests from teams exploring deterministic AI and rule-based automation.

Who are we?

SESL is part of a group of solutions produced and managed by the Oblongix business. Oblongix was established to provide advanced business analytical solutions. The team consists of experienced technical and business professionals, who bring a unique blend of knowledge, experience and relationships to the market, often taking new novel approaches to solving complex (and often quoted "unsolvable") business problems.
